Thursday, June 3, 2010 - New Cumberland Borough - Accident With Entrapment

Units from Company 10 (New Cumberland), 12 (Lower Allen), 13 (West Shore), and 68 (Fairview Twp) responded to Interstate 83 northbound between Exits 40 and 41 for an accident with entrapment. Companies arrived to find a multi-vehicle crash with several injuries including a patient that was unresponsive. Life Lion transported the patient to a hospital in unknown condition. A tractor-trailer failing to stop for slowed traffic slammed the rear of several vehicles. The accident resulted in traffic tie ups around the Harrisburg area during the afternoon rush hour.
