Harrisburg Fire Photos 2010

Monday, April 19, 2010 - 7th and Maclay Streets - Local Alarm

Shortly after midnight Box 1-3 sent Wagon 3, Tower 2, and Captain 2 (Shrauder) to 7th and Maclay Streets for a reported accident with injuries, fire, and ejection. Squad 8 was added to the box due to reports of entrapment. Units arrived to a two-vehicle accident and confirmed ejection and a vehicle on fire. 2 occupants were also trapped in a vehicle. Crews went to work on the trapped victims and took about 20 minutes to complete extrication. The vehicle fire was quickly doused and was a secondary priority due to not creating a life hazard or danger to companies operating on the scene. At least 3 people were transported to local hospitals where one victim was pronounced dead. HPD is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident but high speed is believed to have played a part in its cause.
